This area of IP is important for the traders where the unique design is developed by the trader. For example in case of Distilleries, unique shapes of bottles of Liquors, wine etc. and in case of shoes manufacturers unique shape of shoes can be protected. Likewise shapes of any article which is unique in design and invented by the applicant can be protected under Design Act. Only unique shapes which are novel can be protected. No work which is already in public domain can be regarded as novel and hence not subject of registration. Procedure involve for registration are
