NPPA Invites Bids for Pharmaceutical Data Partner

Tender released for agencies providing comprehensive pharmaceutical market data

National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has floated a tender to select an agency capable of providing comprehensive pharmaceutical market data to support drug price fixation, revision, and related regulatory decisions.

Current data provider and pre-Bid meeting 

At present, NPPA and its Multi-Disciplinary Committee (MDC) of Experts rely on data supplied by Pharmarack Technologies Pvt. Ltd, a Mumbai-based company. In a recent pre-bid meeting conducted late last month, Pharmarack Technologies and Delhi-based Marg ERP Ltd were the two firms that participated.

Two companies  Mumbai-based Pharmarack Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Delhi-based Marg ERP Ltd. participated in the pre-bid meeting held in late August. Currently, Pharmarack is the primary data provider for NPPA and its Multi Disciplinary Committee of Experts.Interested bidders must submit their proposals by September 19, with technical bids opening on September 22. The schedule for financial bid evaluation will be announced later.

Key Dates and Submission Process

The last date for submitting bids has been set as September 19, 2025, with technical bids scheduled to be opened on September 22. The date for opening financial bids will be communicated later to bidders who qualify in the technical round. All participating agencies must upload signed and stamped copies of required documents and a covering letter on the NPPA designated online portal by the submission deadline.

The selected agency will   supply detailed datasets, including pack-wise sales figures (monthly, quarterly, annual), pricing trends (MRP, PTR, PTS), market share, MAT values, and classifications by brand, generic name, and drug type (scheduled, non-scheduled, or under Para 19 of the DPCO).

Drug classification and product information

Data must comprehensively cover drugs that are scheduled, non-scheduled, and those falling under Paragraph 19 of the Drugs Prices Control Order (DPCO) 2013,. Each data entry must  include the Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) name, brand name, manufacturer’s and marketer’s details, and classification status. This will help the NPPA monitor the pharmaceutical market more effectively.

The agency needs to provide regular reports on pricing violations, market statistics, and new product launches. On-demand, NPPA may also seek state- or city-level data on drug availability and prices, along with analytical reports.
