NPPA fixes retail prices for nine newly introduced drug formulations

National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has announced the retail prices for nine newly introduced drug formulations, comprising three anti-inflammatory fixed-dose combinations (FDCs) and six antidiabetic medications. The pricing decision was finalized during the NPPA’s 137th Authority meeting held on September 15, 2025.

NPPA Clarifies Pricing Rules for New Drugs under DPCO 2013 & NLEM

These formulations fall under the category of 'New Drugs' as defined in Paragraph 2(u) of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013. The NPPA clarified that the prices were calculated following the norms specified in Paragraphs 5 and 15 of the DPCO, 2013, based on applications submitted by pharmaceutical companies. Manufacturers may add GST to the retail price, if applicable.
